Sizzlo Terms of Use

Last updated 19 September 2026

These terms cover your use of the Sizzlo app. By using Sizzlo you agree to them.

What Sizzlo is

Sizzlo helps you cook: it reads recipe photos, suggests dishes from what's in your fridge, estimates the nutrition of a meal from a photo, and answers cooking questions. It uses an AI service to do this.

Cooking, nutrition and health

  • Nutrition figures are estimates. They are produced by an AI model reading a photo or an ingredient list. They are not measured, not laboratory values, and not medical advice. Do not rely on them for managing a medical condition.
  • Check your food is safe. Follow recognised food-safety guidance for cooking temperatures, storage and allergens. Sizzlo can be wrong.
  • Allergies. Sizzlo lets you list ingredients to avoid and applies them as a hard rule when generating recipes, but an AI model can still make mistakes. Always read the actual ingredients yourself before cooking or eating. Sizzlo is not a substitute for checking.
  • If you have a medical condition, an eating disorder, or specific dietary needs, talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian.

Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for what happens under your account.
  • You must be 13 or older to create an account.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.

Plans and coins

Sizzlo has no free tier. Creating an account costs nothing, but using the app requires a plan: Sizzlo Core is the one-time purchase that buys the app itself, and the two subscriptions add the AI features on top. An account that has not bought one of the three can sign in, set up, and have one recipe written from its first fridge scan as a sample (two coins, once per account, which never refill), and will then be shown the plans and nothing else.

AI features run on coins. One coin is one AI request: a photo analysed, a recipe generated, a question asked. Everything else in the app (your fridge and pantry, barcode scanning, your shopping list, saved recipes, and importing a recipe from a link) costs no coins and works on every plan.

  • Sizzlo Core. A one-time purchase, and the cheapest way to own Sizzlo. Every core Sizzlo feature, bought once, with no AI features and no coins. It never renews.
  • Sizzlo Lite. A monthly auto-renewing subscription. 250 coins a month.
  • Sizzlo Pro. A monthly auto-renewing subscription. 1,000 coins a month, plus adding ingredients by voice, setting the chef's tone and recipe length, and dinner ideas on Home built around what's in your fridge.

While Sizzlo is in beta, invited testers use the app without paying, with a capped allowance of coins for trying the AI features. Beta access is not a plan, carries no entitlement, and ends when the beta does.

All of these are sold through the Apple App Store. The price shown in the app is the price you pay, in your local currency. That is the price that governs, not any figure quoted elsewhere.

  • Coins refill at the start of each billing cycle. Unused coins do not carry over month to month, and they do not carry over on upgrade, downgrade or cancellation.
  • For the subscriptions, payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and renews automatically each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Sizzlo Core is charged once and never renews.
  • Sizzlo Lite and Sizzlo Pro may be offered with a free trial. A trial converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand, and any unused part of it is forfeited if you subscribe to that plan sooner. Whether a trial is available to you is decided by Apple, per Apple ID, and the app shows it on the plan only when you are eligible.
  • Cancel a subscription any time in App Store → your name → Subscriptions. You keep the plan until the current period ends.
  • You are never charged for going over an allowance. It simply pauses until the next cycle.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Everything you have saved stays yours whether you pay for anything or not.

Acceptable use

Use Sizzlo for cooking. Don't try to break it, resell it, use it to generate content unrelated to food, or use it in a way that breaks the law. We may suspend an account that abuses the service or its coin allowance.

Content

Recipes, photos and messages you put into Sizzlo remain yours. You give us permission to process them so the app can work. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that involves. AI-generated recipes are produced for you on request; we make no claim of ownership over them and no guarantee they are original or accurate.

No warranty, and limits

Sizzlo is provided "as is". We do our best, but we don't guarantee it will always be available, accurate, or free of errors. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a material change we'll say so in the app. Continuing to use Sizzlo after a change means you accept the new terms.
